| Mickey Fowler passed away recently. I had the pleasure of recording several of his songs for a CD that was released in 2002. My good friend ,Mark McAfee, produced the sessions and also was the spirit behind putting this man's music down for all to hear. Although, I didn't know Mickey that well, I was taken by his natural talent and his ability to put heart and soul into the songs. Mickey didn't need chord charts or lyrics written before him. The songs he sang were from his life experiences and from a well of memory that defies the passage of time. He was the real deal. And in this world of the superficial, that means a hell of a lot to me. Aspen Colorado |
